My Very Own Cruiser!

I have to brag a little bit today, so bear with me.  I have a pretty awesome husband, and he deserves a little credit.

He got me a super cool surprise the other day, and I'm pretty stoked about it.

I grumble sometimes because he spends so much time working on his 1967 Land Cruiser.  I start feeling like he would rather be greasy, nasty, and working on it than spend some quality time chatting with me.  He knew I felt that way, and he decided to get me my own "cruiser."  (Not to worry.  He spends time with me too.  I'm just a girl, and I whine sometimes... It's only natural.)

My cruiser has two wheels instead of four, and I haven't had one since I was probably 12, so I was sooo excited when he brought it home.

Can you guess what it is yet?

It's a beach cruiser bike!
Isn't she beautiful?
I thought he did a great job picking it out.  He knows that my favorite color in the whole world has always been green and that I love Love LOVE anything old (or that looks old), so this vintage looking mint green beach cruiser was perfect!  I'm pretty much in love with it.
It even looks cute beside his two wheel cruiser (as opposed to THE "Cruiser" with four wheels).

He brought me out to see it, and I, of course, wanted to ride it right then, so he made some adjustments for me.

Then I immediately hopped on to take a spin...

It's super awesome and I'm soooo excited to have it!

His surprise even helped solve a problem that I had been worrying about lately.  I had been worried because Kent's going to be going on another trip before long, and when he's gone, I have a hard time giving Duke as much exercise as he needs all by myself.  Don't get me wrong, I do it, but it's not easy.  I have to run more than my knees are accustomed to or walk for several hours a day, and sometimes it's just not practical.  This new bike solves that!

When Kent is home, he sometimes takes Duke on bike rides.  Duke gets his run for the day, and Kent doesn't have to run every single day if he doesn't feel like it.  Since Duke is so good at running right beside him, or in this case the bike, it's easy.  Now I can do the same thing, and not worry that he's got too much pent up energy.  It will work out great.

I am definitely feeling super blessed to have such an awesome husband who does such thoughtful things for me.  He may not be a mushy-gushy type of romantic, but he takes care of things, gives me the things I need and want, and spends time with me, and that's the most important thing to me.

Keep the roses, jewelry, and poetry... I want a bike, my great guy, and some quality time on a bike ride together!  :)

  1. Oh, Lindsay, I love this post!!! So funny b/c just today I was teasing with my hubby that maybe I need a bicycle...that we both do {he has one of those fast road bikes but it need some work done since he didn't get to ride it much when we lived in VA}...I told him maybe I really want one just so I can have one of those cute baskets on the front! :) He just looked at me and went right back to washing his car! heehee He just recently got a Honda S2000 that he has wanted for yrs...had to find the perfect one so he had looked for awhile. So, I can definitely relate to so many of the things you mentioned ~ think that is the cleanest car in town! :) And, my hubby is definitely the kind that takes care of things, gives me surprises that I will really use and enjoy, and we have the best time going for rides in his convertible (he even lets me drive it!)! He can be romantic but is not that "mushy gushy" type either, but oh, how I love him so!! :) Love that cute bike and all the plans you have for it {and, Duke}!! :)

  2. Thank you for the sweet comments and thank you for following Ann-Margaret! You totally need to get a bike! I had forgotten exactly how much fun they are. I don't think I've had one since I was 12, and I spent the day riding every chance I got! (Even if it was just in figure 8's in our little cul-de-sac while Kent worked on his Land Cruiser and talked to me!) Tell Tucker hello, and we can't wait to read about his next adventures! :)
